HOW TO GLAZE YOUR WORK WITHOUT A GOOD PC(or on mobile)/TIPS TO MAKE IT LESS VISIBLE
Glaze your work online on:
Cara app. It requires you to sign up but it is actually a good place for your portfolio. Glazing takes 3 minutes per image and doesn't require anything but an internet connection compared to 20-30 minutes if your pc doesn't have a good graphic card. There IS a daily limit of 9 pictures tho. Glazed art will be sent to you after it's done, by email. It took me 30 minutes to glaze 9 images on a default setting. Cara app is also a space SPECIFICALLY for human artists and the team does everything in their power to ensure it stays that way.
WebGlaze. This one is a little bit more complicated, as you will need to get approval from the Glaze team themselves, to ensure you're not another AI tech bro(which, go fuck yourself if you are). You can do it through their twitter, through the same Cara app(the easiest way) or send them an email(takes the longest). For more details read on their website.
Unfortunately there are no ways that I know of to use Nightshade YET, as it's quite new. Cara.app definitely works on implementing it into their posting system tho!
Now for the tips to make it less visible(the examples contain only nightshade's rendering, sorry for that!):
Heavy textures. My biggest tip by far. Noise, textured brushes or just an overlay layer, everything works well. Preferably, choose the ones that are "crispy" and aren't blurred. It won't really help to hide rough edges of glaze/nightshade if you blur it. You can use more traditional textures too, like watercolor, canvas, paper etc. Play with it.
Tumblr media
Colour variety. Some brushes and settings allow you to change the colour you use just slightly with every stroke you make(colour jitter I believe?). If you dislike the process of it while drawing, you can clip a new layer to your colour art and just add it on top. Saves from the "rainbow-y" texture that glaze/nightshade overlays.
Gradients(in combination with textures work very well). Glaze/nightshade is more visible on low contrast/very light/very dark artworks. Try implementing a simple routine of adding more contrast to your art, even to the doodles. Just adding a neutral-coloured bg with a darker textured gradient already is going to look better than just plain, sterile digital colour.
Tumblr media
And finally, if you dislike how glaze did the job, just try to glaze/shade it again. Sometimes it's more visible, sometimes it's more subtle, it's just luck. Try again, compare, and choose the one you like the most. REMEMBER TO GLAZE/SHADE AFTER YOU MADE ALL THE CHANGES, NOT BEFORE!!
If you have any more info feel free to add to this post!!

The thing that bugs me with like giving dca full coverage clothing designs is like. They're shirtless probably because of their light sensors. I'd assume they're spread over the body, so they can "feel" the percentage of light/darkness, to properly plan out their plays in theatre. That's why they're shirtless.
This opens up so many silly interactions tho. Like, what do you mean you can just throw a blanket over Sun to shut him up and then to just hear Moon giggle from under the blanket. What do you mean your animatronic can actually probably sneak out into the real world clothed in a baggy hoodie and no one really will notice. What do you mean Moon wearing a normal t-shirt would be like jail for Sun, too many light sensors on their torso are in the dark. Free the nipple!! LET HIM OUT. Can you imagine being topless because you NEED your tits to be out or YOU will be out. Anyway

the autistic experience of not feeling human and being interested in non-human characters only because you feel like they're the only ones who truly get you. Like yes Dracula I also genuinely don't understand social rules of my own kind and honestly why even bother at this point. Let's just run away into your castle and kiss inside your coffin

I know this post is more for cricut users but if you're in a spot where you're able to afford to switch from cricut to something else I highly recommend Silhouette. They're in the same price range (I got mine Silhouette Portrait 3 even cheaper than any cricut would be), the brand is less famous (which is a good thing when it comes to capitalism), they're much smaller(well, Silhouette Portrait 3 is), lightweight, faster, and more precise even with glossy materials(the sensor does NOT care what material you use as long as you follow instructions) ↓
Tumblr media
(This was a failed first test of the Silhouette's software as I forgot to add borders all around the stickers but I was so amazed by how precise it is I didn't care that I fucked up. This is glossy paper by the way)
If you know how to use YouTube tutorials Silhouette studio is nothing to be afraid of, it definitely looks quite old but it does it's job very well and it took me just a few hours to get familiar with it fully. Be ready that 95% of fuck ups will be user mistakes, aka, your fault lol. Unlike Cricut, Silhouette obeys you fully at all times and sometimes that fucking sucks if you're stupid lol.
One downside I've found to it, is that it's quite noisy, so no night time sticker making is allowed :( but that's a very tiny con imo.
Cricut is very famous so they can afford such bullshit but I don't think silhouette can, so they might just be a bit more careful with their customers. (They tried to switch to subscription based program once and after immediate backlash from their audience they switched back. So? I guess that's good...?)
Anyway fuck capitalism
did yall know cricut put a metal strip in the back of their newer Maker 3 that doesn't do anything except pop out after like six months of regular use and force you to call customer service so they can tell you to replace the machine
well they did and instead of calling them and replacing an entire functional fucking machine you can just cut the bar out and put tape over what's left

The thing that kills me about dca and robots in general, is that no matter how hard they try, they will never be able to relate to an experience of having a childhood.
An experience of having a caregiver. Experience of growing. An experience of gaining experience.
They were brought into this world for a reason, for a specific purpose and their only function is to follow it. They have a motherboard without really knowing what the "mother" part of it means.
You were born knowing nothing? You were a blank canvas? You grew your knowledge and vocabulary and experience slowly with age? They wonder how that must've felt.
Are they even allowed to wonder, how could it be, to be able to choose your purpose? To be able to pursue the horizon if you want to do so. To be a canvas, and if you don't like the painting, to cover it up and start over.
No, no. They are no canvas. Circuit boards don't work that way. You erase, you rewrite. No layers, no wait time. You exist as you are or you don't exist at all.
Their future is determined by whoever knits the very strict lines of code into their system.
Your future is determined by you. Unlimited. You hold the brush.
Are you scared?
They know they would be.
No rules to follow? No, no. They wouldn't be able to choose what to do with their life either. It's probably a good thing they were made for this life! To tend to children, to soothe the parents. It's a life they fit into, it's a life they know and easily glide through.
It's a life that will never ever change.
Right?

People often talk how inaccurate self diagnoses can be for things like autism and while I personally disagree, I found it to be true to some degree. But in a completely opposite direction.
When I just found out about a possibility of me being neurodivergent, maybe, like, a year ago? (Thanks to a peer review by my friends💀) I took an online test for a self diagnosis - RAADS-R. And there's a reason they say "it can be inaccurate".
I think my first "score" was something close to 80 out of 240 possible. It meant I had some of the traits, but a lot of neurotypical people could score that high too.
But I got curious. And so for the next year I was doing my research. Finding out about spoon theory, about energy levels, about light and sound sensitivity, struggles with social cues and such.
I took the test again, a year later. I scored 167.
If your conclusion is "well, obviously you were influenced and the results are biased" you won't be entirely wrong. But the reason for it is not that I faked it. It's that I paid more attention to myself.
If you're living your whole life masking, you're taught to ignore absolutely every symptom of what may be autism or ADHD. My whole life I was thinking that I'm "weird" or "broken" or "different" or or or. I knew that I'm living my life somehow different than people around me. It felt like everyone got a tutorial how to live this life and I skipped it. But I could never understand why.
So, why did I score higher the second time I took the test? Because the first time all of the "weird" situations were never linked to autism in my brain. I had two dots, the connection between them being autism. But I never recognised the said connection, due to the high-masking nature that helped me to cope with everyday struggles.
But the second I made the connection, suddenly everything made sense. Suddenly, it's not "I'm too sensitive", it's not "something is wrong with me", it's not "why am I not enjoying this while others do?". It's fucking autism(and ADHD too, lol.)
That's the reason your diagnosis may be not as accurate as you think. Your brain can try and protect you from making the connection between your experiences and the diagnosis. Or, of course, there's a possibility to make a wrong connection, too.
But you're the only one who can find out. There's no one out there who knows you better than yourself.

With how good AI is doing in COMMERCIAL SALES, no, no one cares about small mistakes in your art. General public doesn't care about mistakes at all, it seems. No, I don't think it's a good thing. I'm actually very disappointed.
